Gurkirtan K. Lali

Gurkirtan Lali, the founding lawyer of Star Legal Services, was born in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. She earned her Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree from the University of Leicester, graduating in 2017. After completing her legal education, she was called to the Alberta Bar in 2020, marking the beginning of her professional career.

Ms. Lali’s practice focuses on Real Estate, Commercial, and Family Law, offering clients a well-rounded expertise in various aspects of legal matters. She is deeply committed to serving her community and supporting the legal needs of individuals and businesses alike. In addition to her practice, Ms. Lali is an active member of the legal community. She serves as an executive member of the South Asian Bar Association Edmonton and as a board member of the Boyle Street Education Centre, demonstrating her commitment to social causes and advocacy.

Fluent in English and Punjabi, and conversational in Hindi and Urdu, Ms. Lali is able to connect with clients from diverse backgrounds, making her legal services more accessible and inclusive.

Jasdeep Kaur

Jasdeep Kaur, a dedicated Student-at-Law at Star Legal Services. She completed her B.A. LL.B. at the prestigious Army Institute of Law, Mohali, Punjab, India, from 2014 to 2019. During her academic tenure, she gained a solid foundation in law, which paved the way for her professional career.

Jasdeep’s career began at IFFCO-Tokio General Insurance Co. Ltd. in Gurugram, India, where she honed her legal skills in the field of Motor Third Party Claims. She served as a Management Trainee from August 2019 to August 2020, before being promoted to Assistant Manager (Legal) in the same area from August 2020 to December 2021. During her time at IFFCO-Tokio, Jasdeep gained valuable experience in legal claims management and insurance law, working on numerous complex cases.

In addition to her practical experience, Jasdeep is enrolled as an Advocate with the Bar Council of Punjab and Haryana (2021) and the Bar Council of India (2023). She has also completed her National Committee on Accreditation (NCA) qualification in 2024 and is expected to be called to the Alberta Bar in 2025. Fluent in English, Punjabi, Hindi, and Urdu, Jasdeep is well-equipped to serve clients from diverse linguistic backgrounds and is dedicated to providing expert legal support.

Tarneet Kaur

Tarneet Kaur, a Student-at-Law at Star Legal Services, brings a strong academic background and practical experience to the firm. She completed her LL.B. at the University of Leicester in the United Kingdom, graduating in 2019. During her time at law school, she developed a comprehensive understanding of various areas of law, laying a solid foundation for her professional journey.

In 2021, Tarneet received accreditation from the National Committee on Accreditation (NCA), a significant milestone in her career. She is expected to be called to the Alberta Bar in 2025, where she will officially begin her practice in Canada. Tarneet is passionate about assisting clients with real estate and commercial transactions, focusing on providing effective solutions to meet her clients’ legal needs.

Fluent in Punjabi and English, and conversational in Hindi and Urdu, Tarneet is well-equipped to communicate with clients from diverse backgrounds. Her ability to speak multiple languages allows her to offer accessible legal services to a broader range of clients, ensuring clear and effective communication throughout their legal processes.
